Meta is kicking off a sizable security update as the tech giant begins rolling out new parental tools to Messenger, Facebook, and Instagram. The goal here is to give parents and legal guardians a lot more control over how their teenage children interact with these apps . Messenger's tools will be housed in the new Parental Supervision hub where users can learn “how much time their teen spends on” the platform, receive notifications whenever someone new is added to the contacts list, as well as dictate who can message them. Parents can restrict incoming messages to “only their [child’s] friends, friends of friends, or no one”. Parents will also be able to control “who can see their [kid’s] stories” and get told whenever someone is reported on the account. Teenagers can change some of the security settings themselves, but if they do that, their guardians will get a notification informing them of any adjustments. Microsoft Launcher’s latest June update has been giving users plenty of trouble, especially if they happen to be using a Surface Duo. The update, released on June 27, 2023, has already amassed plenty of posts from Reddit and Twitter users about their devices not working properly with Microsoft Launcher. Though it’s a wide range of devices having issues, the Surface Duo seems to be the most common which, according to Windows Central , seems to be tied to a recent system update. Roku has squared up to the world's best streaming services like Apple TV Plus and Netflix by announcing its first foray into today's big new TV battleground: live sports. A new deal with Formula E, which is the electric car sibling of Formula 1, will see Roku and CBS Sports become the exclusive home of the racing championship from January 2024.  As part of the deal, Roku will stream 11 races on the free, ad-supported Roku Channel, while CBS will show five races per season (which will also stream on Paramount Plus ). Both of these will be available in Roku's Sports Experience hub, which launched in November 2022 to give users a centralized place for sports streaming. Samsung is currently rolling out a software update that will introduce a SeeColors mode to all of its 2023 TVs and monitors.  Through this new accessibility feature, the tech giant is adding “various color settings” to help people dealing with color vision deficiency (CVD) – more commonly referred to as color blindness. The company states “SeeColors mode provides nine [different] picture presets” giving people a way to adjust the “red, green, and blue levels” in a picture to something more “suitable for them.” That way, users will be able to more “easily distinguish [on-screen] colors… depending on their degree or type of CVD.” SeeColors existed prior to this as a standalone app for Samsung TVs .
