Take your webcam capture up a notch with the OBSBOT Tiny 2

In recent years technology was rapidly hurtling toward a future where more and more of our lives are lived online, and this was further accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic. For many, remote work and virtual schooling became the norm and the need for webcams exploded. Webcam technology has been quite limited with people often settling for low quality or grainy graphics and poor resolution and a lower price point. With the rise of remote work and schooling and the increasing popularity of live streaming, however, there has been a push in the market for better quality webcams.

Auto-Tracking and Auto-Zoom, powered by the magic of AI

In 2020, OBSBOT released the OBSBOT Tiny webcam, a first-of-its-kind AI-powered PTZ webcam product that propelled OBSBOT to the forefront of the smart camera market. Now 3 years later OBSBOT has expanded the Tiny series with the all new Tiny 2. The OBSBOT Tiny 2 utilizes an enhanced, self-developed and patented Deep Neural Learning Network algorithm.

This brand new and enhanced network algorithm improves how the Tiny 2 utilizes gesture support and auto tracking capabilities, allowing the user to control the camera using simple hand gestures. Holding your hand in the shape of an “L”, for example, instructs the camera to automatically zoom in and out. The OBSBOT Tiny 2 sits atop a 2-axis gimbal which, when partnered with Deep Learning Neural Network Algorithm, allows the camera to fluently track the subject and keep the person in focus throughout the duration of the video. This is an excellent tool for virtual instructors who often need to move around the room while giving instructions and lectures.

Be your own hands free camera operator with Voice Controls

The Tiny 2’s small stature and crystal clear 4K resolution makes it an excellent option for content creators who may want to improve their camera quality without being limited to sitting at a desk. For those who are moving around their recording area but may not have their hands free for gestures, the Tiny 2 can also respond to voice control. Simple commands like “Hi, Tiny” or “Sleep, Tiny” can awaken the Tiny 2 camera or put it back into its privacy protecting sleep mode while pre-set options can allow you to switch between dedicated camera options. Zooming and tracking can also be controlled via voice.

AI-powered auto zoom and auto focus that is fast and accurate

Everybody’s seen the Youtube videos or livestream creators who have had to put their hand behind an item they’re trying to show the audience to force the camera to focus, but the Tiny 2 wants to make that a thing of the past. The Tiny 2 features a 50-megapixel sensor surface that accurately focuses up to 4x faster while also achieving higher resolutions and high dynamic range even in poor lighting. Not every content creator has the luxury of flawless daylight lighting at all times, and so the Dual native ISOs further improve your camera quality as the Tiny 2 automatically switches to the appropriate ISO for your lighting scenario. This is achievable thanks to the Tiny 2’s CMOS which is 1/1.5” larger than the CMOS the Tiny 4K originally shipped with 3 years ago.

The latest Apple TV 4K test lets you watch four sports streams at once

Apple is trying something new with the latest beta version of tvOS 16.5: the option to watch up to four simultaneous streams at once. Right now it's limited to live sports streamed through the Apple TV app on the Apple TV 4K , specifically MLB Friday Night Baseball and the MLS Season Pass. A multi-view option was spotted in the tvOS software last month, but the code was hidden and not enabled. MacRumors reported that the feature would be enabled this weekend, and beta testers have since been able to use it. As yet multi-view hasn't been officially announced by Apple, but it's expected that tvOS 16.5 is going to be pushed out in its final form within the next month or so. WWDC 2023 is around the corner as well, when we should be hearing about the next major updates for Apple's various operating systems – including tvOS 17. How it works Over at 9to5Mac there's a hands-on demonstrating how the multi-view feature works, and it's pretty much as you would expe...

Quantum computers are fast becoming cheaper and smaller — and they could be coming to a data center near you very soon

IonQ claims we’re closer to widespread enterprise quantum computing deployment as it lifted the lid on two rack-mounted models that can be deployed on-premises.   The startup has built the fourth-generation #AQ35 IonQ Forte Enterprise and fifth-generation #AQ64 IonQ Tempo, both of which are designed to be deployed in enterprise and government data centers. It’s also said it is deploying two quantum computers to the US Air Force.  While revealing these two models, IonQ co-founder and CTO Jungsang Kim said quantum computers are already in use by enterprises to churn through machine learning workloads. This, he added, suggests we’re much closer to readily available and affordable machines. Priming enterprises for a quantum future “We believe in the enterprise-grade quantum computing, which is where it can be something of value for enterprises, can happen in the next few years as we build powerful enough quantum computers that can actually do things that classical computers w...

Nvidia RTX 4080 GPU could get cheaper with a new version – but don’t get your hopes up

Nvidia’s RTX 4080 is purportedly getting a new spin on the GPU which could reduce the cost, but any price reduction will likely be very minor, sadly, if it happens at all. Tom’s Hardware flagged up this rumor – and treat it with caution, as with anything from the ever-spinning mill – that originated from HKEPC (a tech site in Hong Kong), claiming that while the current RTX 4080 graphics card is built on the AD103-300 chip, Nvidia is going to use a slightly different GPU in the future, namely AD103-301. There’s now more evidence this is actually happening, Tom’s points out, courtesy of a graphics card maker, Galax, which under its RTX 4080 product details lists the GPU as ‘AD103-300/301’. Furthermore, VideoCardz , which also picked up on this, informs us that Gainward, another card maker, has also listed the updated GPU variant AD103-301 in its product specs. With two separate third-party graphics card makers mentioning this new spin on the GPU in their specs, it seems pret...
